Boxing continues into 2021. After a bleak 2020, when many stars did not compete or only once competed, in the new year some fighters had already had great success in the ring period.

Look no further for the same pound king, Canelo Alvarez. The Mexican superstar took possession of the super-middleweight level in November with a knockout blow from Caleb Plant to become the undisputed first champion in the history of that level. The 12-month career, which had four huge victories, has had a high chance of consensus once again with the consent of the Fighter of the Year.

And many in the boxing community were amazed when WBA welterweight champion Yordenis Ugas surpassed the legend of Manny Pacquiao to save his title in August. Fight at the last minute Errol Spence Jr. although it was caused by a joint title injury, many hoped Pacquiao, 42, would be able to take care of business against the Cuban. Pacquiao announced his retirement from boxing to head for the presidency in the Philippines in his hometown.

In addition, Oleksandr Usy surprised many with his brilliant work against Anthony Joshua in claiming joint heavyweight championships. Usy made the decision on the London champion and threw a key to the fight to reconcile the heavyweights after Joshua asked for his automatic rematch clause.

As the year draws to a close, boxing looks set to come out on top.

On Nov. 20, WBO titleholder Terence Crawford will face former welterweight title contender Shawn Porter. The fight is the biggest test of Crawford’s career so far, as Porter seeks to regain the title after losing a tight decision against Errol Spence Jr. in 2019.
