(Reuters) – Canada’s Trans Mountain on Monday said there were “still days” to restart essential oil pipelines at reduced capacity as rains continue to hamper restoration efforts.
The Canadian government-owned pipeline sends 300,000 barrels a day of raw and refined products from Alberta to the Pacific coast. It was temporarily closed due to heavy rains and floods in some parts of British Columbia.
The operator said assessments of the recent storm impacts are being carried out with a focus on the Coldwater and Coquihalla regions.
Work on some sites was suspended on Sunday due to heavy water accumulation or lack of access, the company added.
On Friday, the company said it was working to restart the oil pipeline at reduced capacity this week.
