Best Gingerbread Man Decorating Cookie – It Tastes Good Too! – Wired PR Lifestyle Story

[ad_1]

Cookie season is in full swing, which means it’s time for the next edition of our Bake Off series! (See earlier: pumpkin pie bake-off, banana bread bake-off, blueberry muffin oven-off, and ginger molasses cookie baked-off.) For the holidays, there is a cookie in mind, so we started looking for the best gingerbread man cookie recipe on the internet.

In discussions with friends, it seems that the gingerbread cookie recipe itself is not thought of much. We make them once a year, we throw a bunch of icing and sweets on them for fun designs, sometimes to decorate them with wild ones, but we make them for experience, because they don’t taste very good. And for me, that seems like a big loss at a time of year when all cookies are celebrated. So I took on the challenge of finding the perfect base for decorating with a very good taste.

Road Rules:

No add-ons

By prior smoking rules, cookies were judged on their own as actual cookies. We also tasted these with royal icing on top, but the judgments were based on the true merits of the regular cookie, with no additives or decorations.

Recipes must be followed EXACTLY

For the sake of the peace-off, I adhered to specific written instructions. This meant that even though I disagreed with the method or measures, I discarded my personal opinions in order to follow the recipe in detail.

Classification Railing:

A total of 15 tasting tasters took part in this pastry. In the ranking of the best gingerbread man cookie recipe, we were looking for the classic, so that means a few things:

Flavor:
– To heat spices that give a lot of flavor. We just want to make the line spicy, warm and salty.
– Not very sweet. Knowing that most gingerbread man cookies freeze, real cookies shouldn’t be completely sweet.
– Must be able to taste molasses.

Texture:
– I want to tie the sponge cake a little, but I don’t want it to dry out.
– It’s also nice to chew on the texture.
– We want a cookie that allows us to return more than one.

So with our rules and classification criteria in place, with a total of almost 200 biscuits baked and tasting ready, keep moving on to find the winner of our best gingerbread cake recipe!

# 6 Pioneering Gingerbread Cookies for Women

Overall, this cookie was not a fan favorite. Although all the taste testers thought the flavor was sweet and the molasses advanced, there weren’t enough spices for the gingerbread biscuits we wanted. The texture was also unsuccessful with our judges. It was more chewy, but not quite as wet as we would have liked. This would have been a lovely biscuit to decorate, but it wasn’t the one we kept coming back for another snack.

# 5 Donna Hay Gingerbread Men

This cookie caused the most controversy in our tasting. Was this a gingerbread cookie? However, it doesn’t have molasses, so could we really call it a gingerbread cookie? In the end, this cookie received a lot of positive comments. Our judges liked to taste a little bit of golden flower syrup there, and they thought the chewed texture was also very pretty. Overall, our testers thought it was a very good cookie, but we didn’t think it was a gingerbread cookie, that’s why # 5. We would make it again and eat it, but not as a gingerbread cake.

# 4 King Arthur Gingerbread Cookies

This cookie was my favorite dough to work with: nice and smooth and easy to cut and bake. I add this comment, after working with the dough of all these recipes, because those who are not sticky or not difficult to cut receive my applause. The taste of this cookie was pleasant with a bit of spice and a gentle sweetness, which was very classic with gingerbread. The molasses was subtle but we liked that it played more in the background and the spice was in front of us.

It was the texture that divided the group here. Some people liked this biscuit a little chewing gum, but they didn’t think it was enough with a little biscuit. Others thought that this cookie was a little dry, and that it would benefit from the extra frost to help with that. Overall, it’s a good cookie that has fallen somewhere in the middle.

# 3 Food52 Gingerbread Cookies

This was one of my favorite cookies on the set. Although it requires extra effort to brown the butter, the flavor was well worth it. Several friends in our group said that this cookie had the taste of besan burfi, which, if you have never taken it, makes no sense, but if you do, you will know that the taste of butter nut blends very well with heating. spices. The spices bloom in warm brown butter for this recipe, so overall we thought the flavor of the spice was very nice. We lost the cinnamon flavor a bit, as this cookie only uses grain and ginger, but we enjoyed it nonetheless. The texture is shorter than shortbread to chew a bit more than a classic gingerbread, but again, we liked it. Overall a good biscuit, not the most classic, but a sweet one worth enjoying.

# 2 Food Network Gingerbread Cookies

It was a very good cookie. Although there was some discussion about the texture — it was the most inflatable of all, rather than the most exciting — it was one of those cookies that people would turn back in seconds and thirds. The chewing of this cookie is very nice, and combined with the gentle sweetness and spice, it felt like a repeatable cookie. In general, I would do it from season to season to share with friends and in cookie boxes.

# 1 Martha Stewart Gingerbread Cookies

And the winner… Martha Stewart is one and only one, of course. When you want the best gingerbread man cookie recipe, this is the classic recipe you are looking for. The taste was very spicy and it also had a sweet chocolate flavor although there was no cocoa in this recipe. It was the sweetest of sweets, but we still caught a hint of molasses in the cookie. He had a nice break from the texture, he had a nice chew and he kept coming back for more.

Combined with royal icing, it’s absolutely perfect and I would eat a whole tray of them. I would say you have to be careful, as it is very easy to bake these cookies because of the dark color, but the end result is perfect when we are looking for a gingerbread cake. This will be the gingerbread cookie recipe I use from now on!
