Ashes: England’s training session canceled after clean ball positive for COVID-19

England had another success in the fourth Ashes Test against Australia on Sunday after one of their players tested positive for COVD-19 and canceled a training session with other players considered to be in close contact.

With the series already approved after three consecutive defeats, England suffered a final blow as tourists planned to join former team captain Adam Hollioake in the day’s coaching staff and within hours, the media reported here.

The fourth test will begin on January 5th.

Earlier in the week, members of the English setup cleared a round of COVID-19 testing at MCG before the 2nd day of the Ash Test, after two of the support staff and two family members tested positive for the virus. As a result of the positive cases, the start of the game was delayed.

The visiting team is preparing for the fourth Test with a coaching skeleton after coach Chris Silverwood. forced into isolation when a family member tested positive for COVID. Bowling coach Jon Lewis Pace, spin tutor Jeetan Patel and strength and conditioning specialist Darren Veness also tested positive.

Assistant coach Graham Thorpe has left the team in charge of the starting lineup.

Hollioake, a former day captain of England, who lives on the Gold Coast, was asked to join England in Sydney. However, the media reported on Sunday that a close relationship with 50-year-old Hollio had turned out to be positive.
