The Iraqi Football Federation announced on Tuesday that it will leave coach Dick Advocaat after only three months of work.
The 74-year-old veteran Dutch coach has been replaced by Zeljko Petrovic, a federation spokesman said in the upcoming Arab Cup in Qatar.
“Advocaat expressed its deep regret at the disappointing results of the intentions of the generous Iraqi fans, and personally because it hoped that the team would get a direct qualification for the Qatar World Cup,” added spokesman Ahmed Odeh Zamel.
