Some exciting new Malaysian NFT projects have been created this week that may eventually emerge as they prepare for the background. the previous week slow.
Following on from our new series to keep up with local NFT news or activities, here are this week’s updates:
The roar of the new moon
Labuan Investment Bank (otherwise known as Digital Bank of Asia), in collaboration Malaysia Comicker Union To create a 60-year cycle (Jia Zi) Fortune Chinese Zodiac NFT set.
A team of comic book professionals brought together 11 cartoonists from the union from 2022 to 2081 to design works of art based on 12 Chinese zodiac signs. The zodiac is also based on the five elements of gold, wood, water, fire, and earth.
For example, the NFT zodiac will include 2022 Water Tiger, 2034 Wood Tiger, 2046 Fire Tiger, 2058 Earth Tiger, and 2070 Gold Tiger.
The remaining 11 Chinese Zodiac NFTs will be announced later and will be rewarded with a monthly raffle by Gold members of the digital bank.
With the aim of celebrating the upcoming Chinese New Year, the initiative aims to promote the development of NFT in Malaysia and introduce local comic artists to the global stage and digital field.
Take out the tigers
For younger people, Pestle & Mortar Clothing (PMC) and Tiger Beer they have launched a duplicate NFT collection Tiger Archives.
The collection includes artwork by Chinese tigers in the PMC archives, along with illustrations of Tiger Beer bottles. Each NFT is unique and completely hand-drawn, stored in the Ethereum blockchain.
0.05 ETH (RM503.35 at the time of writing), the collection will be on sale at OpenSea.
Owners of the NFT collection will unlock some of the exclusive benefits, such as the Malaysian and Singapore Experience Curators, as well as limited edition branded merchandise.
Collaborators also say that 30% of all revenue from the NFT collection will go to local artists and musicians who were hit hard by the pandemic.
On the screens
Typically, viewers who want to show support for a movie would buy a real DVD or watch it in theaters. Now, NFT can serve as a digitized replacement for the old methods.
In return, NFT Movies may also grant users a particular ownership of a movie, in accordance with the privileges specified in the publication.
Theft, a local TV movie is planned for design will be sold as an NFT in Astro First in June to consumers.
It is said to be the first SEA TV movie to be released using NFT technology.
The film’s NFT will also allow Malaysian investors to help the production company produce the film.

This week, we focus on Wan Tsau, a Malaysian artist living in Singapore, who launched his first NFT project. Chapfans.
Wan Tsau created 50 types of dishes, 3 types of sauces, 5 types of dishes and 9 background colors. From these items, he has created 388 Chapfan dishes, each of which is sold in one floor price 0.04 ETH (About 410 RM at the time of writing) in OpenSea.
With so many monkeys, pixelated human avatars and now bears dominating the NFT space, it’s nice to see something a little closer to home. Sure, it may not be as appealing to non-Malaysians or Singaporeans, but Wan Tsau is fine.
The economy is aimed at collectors who share good memories of going to a well-known rice stall. Her memory is of a particular post on Petaling Street, which was run by elderly women.
