At home at Connecticut River Road Farm – Wired PR Lifestyle Story
[ad_1]
Fifteen years ago, Robb Nestor and Bill Reynolds discovered what would become a masterpiece of their creative endeavors. “We were looking for two years before we found River Road Farm and the first time we got in the car, he talked to us. I think we knew right away that we had found the house. ‘ Please join me and Susanna for a staging with Robb and Bill at the Connecticut Historic Home and Garden.
Located in the charming village of Hadlyme (CT), the house is located on a country road, a stone’s throw from the Connecticut River. One of the most appealing aspects of the property for Robb and Bill was that unlike many of the old houses in New England, it was far from the road.
Starting from an empty 11-acre slate, Robb, armed with a gardening degree and an Atlanta gardening business, and Bill, who came from a family of avid gardeners, gradually turned the property into a prosperous, green garden paradise.
In the first decade or so, they walked back and forth from Atlanta, making only short visits to River Road Farm. They gradually began to plant, each time returning with new eyes and new ideas. Rob and Bill design, install and maintain everything themselves, so it should always be considered while continuing to transplant and shape the gardens.
The love for the old house prompted the couple to modestly renovate the farmhouse with sensitive additions that respect the past and the original structure and as passionate collectors, they found everything effortlessly, both inside and out, as they always should be.
As Robb and Bill continue to update the garden for the New England seasons, they have added several buildings, the last of which is a structure away from the main house, with no electricity, where they love to entertain in the warmer. months.
So thank you Robb and Bill for welcoming us to River River Farm! You are the inspiring source of endless creativity!
