The Australian cricketers are just a few months away from their first 24-year tour of Pakistan in the wake of the Asian bombings. Sydney Morning Herald reported on Wednesday.
“We are all enthusiastic,” a source close to the group told the newspaper, using an informal Australian term for anxiety or worry.
Australia will play three tests, three one-day internationals and one Twenty20 match in Pakistan from March 3.
Since 1998, Australia has not toured Pakistan due to security concerns, but has played foreign matches in the United Arab Emirates.
