Canelo Alvarez Vs. Caleb Plant: Fight card, odds, PPV price, start time, date, rumors, full guide

[ad_1]

The eyes of the wrestling world have entered Las Vegas for the main competition on Saturday night. Canelo Alvarez wants to complete a tremendous race over the super-pound weight level to become the undisputed first champion of the four-belt era when he takes the Caleb Plant inside the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Sin City. Everything goes down on Showtime PPV starting at 9pm ET.

Alvarez has been a single-man crewman since he gained weight to “dare to be great” against bigger enemies. Callum Smith raced between Avni Yilidirim and Billy Joe Saunders to win the WBA, WBO and WBC super-middleweight titles, with a violent break from former lightweight champion Sergey Kovalev. Plant, meanwhile, won the IBF title at 168 pounds. He has made three successful defenses in January 2019 and since then.

The poster below has some of the names that fans will know when they walk into the ring on Saturday before the super-heavyweight match. One especially lives at a weight of 168 pounds, as former champion Anthony Dirrell returns against Marcos Hernandez to open the show. Dirrell, 37, scored six straight victories from 2015 to 2019 on his way to the WBC title, but left a fight later for TKO David Benavide in September 2019. He has only fought once since then – he settled for a draw against Kyron. Davis this February.

Also, Mexican super lightweight Elvis Rodriguez will be back for more than two years when he takes on Juan Pablo Romero. Rodriguez, 30, has a perfect 34-0 record in the ring with 22 knockouts. However, after his last win in July 2019, Vargas broke his leg and was named WBC’s “break champion” for the super-gallon weight class. Along with the COVID-19 pandemic and recovery, Vargas has not been seen since that decision defeated Tomoki Kameda.
