Chhetri, Gurpreet’s voice support at the Indian Women’s Asian Cup

Sunil Chhetri, the captain of the Indian men’s national team, and other footballers have joined forces to welcome the stars of the AFC Women’s Asian Cup, which starts on January 20th.
In a tribute video, Chhetri Gurpreet Singh, the national team’s goalkeeper, attacking midfielder Brandon Fernandes, goalkeeper Dheeraj Singh and rising star Lalengmawia Ralte have expressed support for the tournament.
Chhetri, the leading scorer of all time in India, is confident that India will be a pleasant host.

“The AFC Women’s Asian Cup India 2022 is the biggest tournament for the Asian women’s national team. It is an honor for us (India) to host this competition,” Chhetri told the media on Wednesday.
“I am very confident that all the teams involved will be performing at the highest level and that Asian football fans will enjoy watching the action on TV.
“I wish all the teams the best and the best team wins,” added the 37-year-old striker.
Fernandes, who was part of the FC Goa team that won the 2019-2020 Indian Super League, sent his best wishes to the teams. “I welcome all the teams. I look forward to a warm welcome in our country,” he said.
