Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin has called on the United States to “immediately withdraw” its decision and “interfere” in internal affairs.

China has warned that it will “attack” the United States in response to “irresponsible” actions, and has called on Washington to withdraw its recent sanctions on individuals and entities involved in human rights abuses in Beijing.

It was imposed by the United States the extension of human rights-related sanctions on Friday against Chinese individuals and entities, Adding people and entities associated with Myanmar, North Korea and Bangladesh.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin has denounced the sanctions as “malicious acts”.

“We urge the United States to withdraw its erroneous decision immediately and stop interfering in China’s internal affairs and harming China’s interests.

“If the United States acts recklessly, China will take effective measures to firmly attack,” Wang said at a news conference in Beijing on Monday.

These measures are the latest in a series of sanctions planned by Biden to coincide with the two-day Summit for Democracy, where he announced initiatives to strengthen democracy around the world and support pro-democracy legislation in the United States.

On Monday, Wang vowed that Beijing “has a continuing determination to defend national sovereignty, security and development interests.”

He also defended China’s policy of confronting the Uyghur Muslim community in the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, saying it was determined to “fight violence, terrorism, separatism and extremist religious forces.”

“The evil actions of the United States cannot destroy the overall form of development in Xinjiang, halt China’s progress, or reverse the trend of historical development.”

Among those targeted by the U.S. Treasury was the Chinese artificial intelligence company SenseTime, which has been accused of developing face-recognition programs that can determine the ethnicity of a target, with a particular focus on identifying ethnic Uyghurs.

‘Mass arrest’ in Xinjiang

More than one million people, mostly Uyghurs and members of other Muslim minorities, have been arrested or imprisoned by UN experts and rights groups in recent years in a large camp system in Xinjiang.

An unofficial and independent court in the United Kingdom on Thursday ruled that the Chinese government genocide, crimes against humanity and torture of Uighurs and other minorities.

Sir Geoffrey Nice QC, head of the Uighur Court and a prominent human rights lawyer, said the Chinese government has targeted Uighur Muslims for birth control and sterilization policies aimed at reducing the group’s population.

He said, “This vast apparatus of state repression would not exist without a plan at the highest level.”

China denies the abuses in Xinjiang, but the US government and many rights groups say it is committing genocide in Beijing.

Meanwhile, Wang also launched the most recent criticisms US Summit on Democracy, saying that Washington cannot decide whether a country is democratic on its own criteria.

“The Summit of Democracy betrayed the true nature of the U.S. as a destroyer of democracy, while removing its disguise as an advocate of democracy,” Wang said.

Wang called on all countries to work together to address global issues and move forward in building a community with a shared future for humanity.

He also denounced the sanctions against SenseTime, saying the decision was “based on lies and misinformation”.

On Monday, the startup said it was delaying a $ 767 million initial public offering in Hong Kong after the U.S. blacklisted allegations of genocide in Xinjiang.

The blacklist would make it impossible for U.S. investment banks that normally participate in Hong Kong listings to participate or for a U.S. citizen to invest in the offering.
