Costume designer Emi Wada has won an Oscar-winning death at the age of 84, Reuters reported

TOKYO (Reuters) – Japanese costume designer Emi Wada, who won an Oscar for her work on Akira Kurosawa’s 1985 film “Ran”, has died at the age of 84, local media reported on Sunday, citing her family.

Wada died on Nov. 13 and was held with his family and close friends, according to reports, without mentioning the cause of death.

Born in Kyoto, Wada started working as a student at Kyoto City Arts University. He also created costumes for theater and dance productions.

In addition to working with Kurosaware, Wada has designed costumes for many international films, including Peter Greenaway’s “Prospero’s Books” (1991) and Zhang Yimour’s “Hero” (2002) and “House of Flying Daggers” (2004).

She continued to work at the age of 80, creating costumes for Ann Hui’s “Love After Love,” which premiered at the 2020 Venice International Film Festival.
