Why would anyone do that to buy an electric scooter that costs $ 2,700? This is a question I asked myself after a representative from MiniMotors USA proposed to test the new company Dualtron Victor. A colleague also asked me a question about riding a $ 500 electronic scooter.
After walking for several weeks … well, I get it. This is the only scooter I have ever felt made for long walks. I made the 24-mile commute from Brooklyn to New Jersey, and I still had 30 percent of the battery left in the tank. That’s probably the furthest I’ve traveled while I’ve been standing!
It’s so powerful that the cascades increased the steep hills that would have crippled most e-scooters, and its suspension can be well cushioned. It has some oddities — and a big difference — but this thing is almost perfect.
Configuration via breeze
Victor arrived at my door in a huge, heavy box. No, I don’t know who Victor is, but I’m glad this e-scooter needs a few minutes to set up. Tighten the stem clamp, then open the handle and secure it with the corresponding clamps.
There is a hook on the end of the back to cut the handle stalk when you fold it. It prevents it from falling when the stem is stored and makes it much easier to carry Victor. I have to mention my biggest problem here: it’s heavy. He weighs 73 pounds, which is more than most electric bicycles. Lifting to mount the ledge is also heavy. Luckily, I live in an apartment with a lift. But one day the elevator didn’t work and … well, let’s just say the stairwell chose a few words.
It’s impossible to find a comparable and powerful scooter with significantly lighter weight, but that doesn’t mean I won’t complain about it. Bada can get up, get into a trunk. It is surprisingly compact folded.
Victor is almost fully equipped out of the box. There are headlights, taillights and rear and front mud. (It would be a nice bell.) It also has LEDs to illuminate the underside of the deck, and the Dualtron brand on the handset lights up like an RGB gaming computer. If desired, you can use the included remote key to adjust the color and lighting patterns.
You’ll need to turn on the power switch on the bottom of the deck to turn on Victor, using the blackboard on the top right handlebar. Here is the Mode button to change the trip data on the screen, and the third button (with a dot above it) will change the gear of the electronic scooter. These three gears will regulate your speed. The first gear, for example, limits you to 15 miles per hour.
