Hun Manet graduated from the United States Military Academy in 1999 at West Point. He also holds a PhD in Economics from Bristol University in the United Kingdom.

In his speech, Hun Sen also defended the idea of ​​establishing a political dynasty.

Hun Sen’s Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), which has been in power since 1979, has all the seats in the 125-member parliament. the main opposition was disbanded He is accused of plotting to overthrow the government ahead of the 2018 elections.

Cambodian authorities have arrested a number of former opposition members and human rights activists in recent years.

Western countries and human rights groups have long condemned Hun Sen for his crackdown on opponents and critics.

In June last year, Hun Sen said he would be a major force in CPP politics for a century, and told the opposition he would have to wait until the next life if he wanted to seize power.
