2022 WWE Day 1 card, matches, date, rumors, predictions, match card, start time, location

WWE decided to make an extraordinary move to start 2022 by organizing a 1st day payday event for New Year’s Day. The action will take place at the Atlanta State Farm Arena.

No WWE pay-per-view events are scheduled for December, so all the focus on weekly TV will be on building for the big January 1 event. A tournament match has already been set, with Big Ek defending the WWE tournament in a triple threat match against Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens. More games will be played in the coming weeks, with all men’s and women’s world promotion titles expected to be defended on the card.

As with all major WWE events, Day 1 will air live on Peacock. The main ticket will start at 8pm, an hour earlier after an initial show.

Let’s see what we know – and what we expect – in WWE Day 1.

WWE Day 1 match

WWE Championship – Big E (c) vs. Seth Rollins Vs. Kevin Owens: In late October, Rollins won a staircase match on Raw, securing him the title of the future. That was largely sidelined in November as it was linked to the Big E Roman Reigns and Survivor Series. Rollins announced that he would win the title on Day 1, with Owens – who recently attacked the Big E in heel attack – determined to face Big E with a win over Owens. Owens caused Rollins to attack during the match, and Owens was named the winner by disqualification and confirmed his participation in the 1st day title match.

WWE Day 1 forecasts

World Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs. Brock Lesnar: Reigns defeated Lesnar with the help of Crown Jewel’s The Usos. An angry Lesnar attacked SmackDown, an attack that crushed WWE officer Adam Pearce. Lesnar was suspended for his actions. Sami Zayn announced that he would return to SmackDown on December 3 to decide on SmackDown’s next challenger on SmackDown’s Reigns. Zayn. Again, Lesnar vs. The Reigns rematch may not have happened until WrestleMania.

Raw Women’s Championship – Becky Lynch (c) vs. Morgan Book: Morgan has already established its title, with the option set for the December 6 edition of Raw. With less than a month to go before the start of a new challenge, it seems that WWE’s easy game would be an unsuitable finish for Raw and would set a Morgan rematch. Lynch has been in good spirits since the release of her first child since her release, having played well with almost everyone in her ring. This will give Morgan a good chance to rise up with Lynch on a large scale.

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Charlotte Flair (c) vs. Toni Storm: Like Lynch, Flair is a champion in need of a new challenge. It seems that WWE has chosen Storm to fill that role. Storms and Flair have been mixed up in recent weeks, with Flair hitting Storm in the face, with two cakes in the SmackDown edition of the Thanksgiving post. With no other clear option for Flair, hopefully Storm will have a chance at the title match.

Raw Tag Team Championship – RK-Bro (c) vs Dirty Dawgs: RK-Bro is the main focus of Raw weekly and has been linked with numerous games against Robert Roode and Dolph Ziggler. While there are chances of The Street Profits and AJ Styles & Omos including a four-way match, it looks clear that Dirty Dawgs will have some sort of challenge.
