Bangladesh beat New Zealand for the first time in a Test match in the 16th inning with a stunning eight-ball victory at Mount Maunganui on Wednesday without a 17-game World Cup-winning match at home.

Sailor Ebadot Hossain pulled out a 46 out of 46 as Bangladesh rejected the 169 Black Cap on five days in the first round of the Bay Oval and the visiting team canceled out 40 races of victory by losing two wickets. Bangladesh’s first win in any format played in New Zealand put them ahead 1-0 in a two-match series, with the second match set to begin on Sunday in Christchurch.
