Qatar hosts the top 16 teams in the Arab world, with matches set to begin 12 months before the World Cup.
Qatar will host the 2021 FIFA Arabian Cup from Tuesday, 12 months ahead of the 2022 World Cup, which will be their first in the Middle East.
Tunisia faced Mauritania in the opening match of the tournament with Iraq, the most successful team in the competition with four titles, tying the horns with Oman in the second match.
The Qatar hosts will play in Bahrain and the BAC will host Syria in other matches on Tuesday.

How many teams are involved?
A total of 16 teams are taking part, divided into four groups, in the tournament.
Group A: Qatar, Iraq, Oman, Bahrain
Group B.: Tunisia, United Arab Emirates, Syria, Mauritania
Group C: Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Palestine
Group D: Algeria, Egypt, Lebanon, Sudan
What is the format of the tournament?
Each team plays a three-set match by moving the first two teams from each team to the quarterfinals on December 10th and 11th.
The four winners will meet in the semi-finals and the final will take place on December 18, Qatar’s national day.
Which field will the matches take?
The tournament will take place in six stadiums across the country.
Although four of these stadiums have already scheduled matches, Ras Abu Aboud Stadium in Doha and Al Bayt Stadium in northern Al Khor will be inaugurated on the opening day of the tournament.

The most valuable Arab national teams are Morocco ($ 239 million), Algeria ($ 195 million) and Tunisia ($ 36 million) according to the Transfermarkt football website.
The most valuable player in terms of commercial value is Egyptian Mohamed Salah, a 29-year-old who plays for Liverpool. It has a market value of about $ 113 million.
Moroccan Achraf Hakimi (PSG) and Algerian Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City) are worth $ 79 and $ 47 million, respectively.
