Foodpanda Singapore food distribution company is setting a fee of S $ 0.29 from this Sunday (November 21) for all orders.
The company said the fee will be used to develop and upgrade its platform features, such as increasing resources for app merchants and routine maintenance of the platform.
Competitor GrabFood Singapore also charges a fee of S $ 0.30 for all submission requests.
Deliveroo Singapore does not charge a platform fee, but there is a similar “service fee” of $ 0.30 on all orders, which is included in the 24-hour customer support and application enhancements.
GrabFood and Deliveroo have a variable small order fee for food order values of less than the minimum amount.
With regard to foodpanda, users are subject to minimum order values for some retailers, and may have to meet a difference in orders that do not meet the minimum value of the order.
A fast-growing food delivery market
Food distribution companies are aggressively expanding in Singapore and the region to compete for a larger share of the pie.
The e-Conomy SEA 2021 report Google, Temas and Bain & Company showed that the food distribution sector was growing by 33 per cent year-on-year in gross regional value (GMV) to reach $ 12 billion.

In Singapore, Grab and foodpanda are neck-and-neck in market share, with Grab accounting for 42 per cent of the pie and foodpanda for 34 per cent, according to research by Momentum Works and Statista.
