the BBC rides in the winter

My British friend told me Winter Rides, a BBC series that follows a person walking alone in the countryside while chatting with the stream of consciousness. “He who planted these trees did a good job,” says one guy. “This part is a little slippery, but have you really been able to walk well if you don’t get your shoes dirty in the end?” You can hear the cows kissing and the birds chirping in the background. How sweet is that? (Apparently, my grandmother is a big fan.) It reminds me of Norway Slow TV, which has people making knitted fireplaces or sweaters.

sadness and happiness at the hands of meg mason

Recently, many people have asked, “What was your favorite book of 2021?” My answer is threefold: Sadness and happiness By Meg Mason, a novel about a funny English woman struggling with a mental illness; You will never believe what happened: Crazy stories about racism By humorous Amber Ruffin and her sister Lacey Lamar; and Ai! William By Elizabeth Strout, my favorite novelist. (Here’s one conversation with him.) Have you read a good book this year?

nail salon Brooklyn

When my mom visited last week, we went for a pedicure. He asked me what color I was wearing, and I realized that I had worn the same color over the winter: this perfect red.

Alison Roman soup

Winter soups? Breaker. But! This sausage noodle soup with broccoli rabbe it is very sweet and delicious. We are preparing for dinner tonight, in fact. Would you recommend another one? I know this is a very soup friendly community.

PS More fun things, and Babies sleeping outside Denmark.
