Hassan Nasrallah blames Saudi Arabia for spreading ISIL ideology in the region because political tensions are rising.

Beirut, Lebanon – Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah has accused Saudi Arabia of exporting ISIL (ISIS) ideology and transporting suicide bombers to Iraq.

In a televised speech on Monday, he addressed King Salman bin Abdul Aziz of Saudi Arabia.

“Your Majesty is the terrorist who exported the ideology of Daesh to the world,” Nasrallah said, using the Arabic acronym ISIL.

“It’s a terrorist who has sent thousands of Saudis to suicide operations in Iraq and Syria, and it’s you.”

Nasrallah also criticized the kingdom for its close ties to the United States and its military campaign led by Yemen.

Nasrallah’s comments were in response to Lebanese political opponents and critics of the Iran-backed party for damaging ties between the country with the money offer and Saudi Arabia.

“We did not attack Saudi Arabia. They took part in the great conspiracy that was destroying the region, ”the Hezbollah leader said.

Hezbollah has recently come under the control of the most important allies of the Abertzale Free Movement, one of the most important Christian political parties in Lebanon, formed by President Michel Aoun.

Last week, Aoun indirectly criticized the Hezbollah group for straining relations with the Gulf countries, “for interfering in matters they do not care about,” as well as its military dominance as an armed group in Lebanon.

Tribute to Soleiman

Nasrallah’s speech marked the second anniversary of the assassination of Iranian military general Qassem Soleimani.

Soleimani led Iran’s Quds Force from January 1998 until January 2020, when he was killed in a U.S. drone attack near Baghdad International Airport.

“The assassination set a new stage in the consciousness, vision and knowledge of the main enemy,” Nasrallah said, referring to the United States, accusing it of “creating Daesh in Iraq and Syria.”

“Martyr Hajj Qassem Soleimani resisted the American occupation of Iraq, helped establish the Iraqi resistance factions, and gave them money, weapons, strength, hope, and confidence until American forces were victorious and expelled from Iraq,” Nasrallah said. add.

The Quds Force, the foreign arm of the IRGC, played a key role in the Syrian-Iraqi fighting and is responsible for spreading Iran’s influence in the Middle East. Soleimani played an important role in militarily supporting Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and strengthening relations with Hezbollah, Hashd al-Shaabi (Iraqi People’s Mobilization Forces) and Hamas in Gaza, known as the “Axis of Resistance.”

With Iran’s support, Hezbollah became a paramilitary force in the region, playing a key role in supporting the Assad government in Syria and Iran-backed militias in Iraq. It is also an important political party with parliamentarians and ministers within the Lebanese government.
