Pakistan midfielder Mohammad Hafeez has left the Bangladesh three-match series Twenty20 next month.
Hafeez, the star of the ongoing T20 World Cup, wanted to give peripheral batsmen an “opportunity to gain and gain international experience and exposure” from the Pakistan Cricket Commission on Monday.
He was replaced by Iftikhar Ahmed, who lost the T20 World Cup. Pakistan’s three World Cup reserves – Usman Qadir, Shahnawaz Dahani and Khushdil Shah – were also in the 18-man squad.

The three-match series will start in Dhaka from 19 December.
There will be two Test matches after the T20 series, for which the team will be named later.
Pakistan retained Saqlain Mushtaq as interim coach, and South African bowling adviser Vernon Philander will remain with the Bangladeshi team until the first test.
