NEW YORK (Reuters) – Jefferies (NYSE 🙂 Financial Group CEO Richard Handler told Instagram on Sunday that COVID was positive this month after three days of deciding to ask Jefferies employees to work from home again.
Handler said Monday would mark the 10th day of his forties. He described the time of his illness and his request to work from home as “ironic” and said that “none of us can really control our future”.
On Saturday, Handler said in another message that the company is “filming for January 17 as a temporary return date.”
Jefferies asked employees to work from home on Dec. 8 after numerous cases of COVID-19 in the company. The company also canceled all aspects of customers and most travel plans.
Wall Street banks and investment firms have been more aggressive than other sectors in demanding that employees return to their offices. Many of these movements have been diverted by the rapid spread of the Omicron coronavirus variant.
Handler, in his message on Sunday, thanked the medical profession, businesses and the government for their vaccinations and promotions, “which allowed me to cure a short-lived illness quickly.”
