How to decorate yours for the holidays – Wired PR Lifestyle Story

[ad_1]

The halls are officially covered in our house, and for me, nothing puts the scene like a door holiday moment. And this year’s look may be my favorite. Once again, I joined Elle Worsham, the owner Gracious Garlands, which brought together lush greenery and beautiful wreaths to create a look last year but they made the 2021 version their own with some special add-ons. Go over how this came together in detail, and cover this portal for your favorite Christmas door-to-door ideas. If you want to do everything or want to be easy, here’s everything you need to know.

1. Start with a vision.

Before you start hanging your holiday door decorations, you want to determine how you want the design to feel. What atmosphere are you going to? Worsham always comes up with ideas for his designs, writing a few descriptive words to capture the essence of the design. Pinterest and Instagram are perfect for inspiring ideas for Christmas gates. This is a great place to start creating a board for your porch.

2. Customize.

Since the house is not the same, make sure you supply the design your front door. Take photos with your phone on your doorstep and use iPhotos’ markup feature to sketch a blurry design. It doesn’t have to be nice, but it will help you liven up your vision. When the design is sketched, take all necessary measures for the door and entrance.

3. Properly sized fountain decoration.

Now that you have your design and measurements, you can order the right size wreaths, garlands and all the decorations you want. This step saves you a lot of time solving problems when it comes to building your design, you know exactly how to shape things.

4. Choose a high quality and long lasting garland.

Buying high quality and custom garlands is all about making sure you get the most out of your decor. Garlands ordered in large stores may take weeks or months to ship. Warmer greens like Fraser fir and other evergreen firs will thrive in the open air. Worsham also says that a garland with many types of greens seems to last longer because the sun affects different types of leaves in different ways. Sure, all the greens will eventually dry out and disappear, but its transient nature (and wonderful scent) is part of the beauty of the fresh garland.

5. Note the mechanics.

When you’re ready to decorate, it’s important to consider what’s really possible with your installation. For example, my front door has a window on it, so Worsham used four large suction cups to wire and anchor the garland above the door. He then placed the garland on the lanterns on both sides with a green flower thread. There are some tools to keep in hand suction cups, 20-22 green flower thread, sharp garden shears, command hooks, a hammer, sturdy staircase and scissors.

6. Duplicate for a fuller look.

When you double the garland, you will look more dramatic and fuller. Worsham used the same main garland as last year, but the use of two chains really set the design apart. This rule also applies to other decorative elements when you work with windows. Since my front door is made of glass, he used a double-sided crown that looks beautiful inside and out.

7. Use to lighten the color of winterberry.

Winterberry will give your door a beautiful touch of red and give the whole design a festive touch, and the colorful touches will make this year look completely different. Get creative with this step! Work on the stems where you see fit and see how it brings out a creative and organic element.

8. Give a little love to your green.

Again, these are not artificial garlands. They are fresh and need to be taken care of. I’m not a garland expert by any means, but luckily you can download Gracious Garland for free. Green Care Guide to help your greens last the season.

9. Don’t be afraid to get your hands dirty.

Worsham’s first advice when it comes to Christmas door decorations is that there are no real rules. Go out and play. We are all creators at heart and there is nothing more gratifying than bringing your own vision to life. You may be wondering what you are capable of creating wonderful designs with natural elements. It’s what makes you happy this season and is a great place to start decorating your Christmas doors.
