The Pakistani bowlers claimed 13 wickets in the frantic last day to win the second round against Bangladesh, with eight innings and runs to end the 2-0 series sweep on Wednesday.

After winning the draw, Pakistan opted for a 300-4 win over the weather, with only 215 overs at Mirere’s Shere Bangla Stadium.

Their bowlers, led by round-robin Sajid Khan, put on new excitement to compete as they reduced Bangladesh to 76-7 on Tuesday.

After the game resumed on Wednesday, Pakistan split Bangladesh in exchange for 87 and set up a follow-up.

Bangladesh won 205 in the second inning, but an improved display of the bat was not enough to prevent a huge defeat.

Sajid, who scored eight wickets in the first innings, finished with the best match of 12-128 to win the man of the match award.

Pakistani captain Babar Azam, who scored the best score for his side 76, claimed his first test wicket when he caught Mehidy Hasan’s leg before the wicket.

“Even though we lost time because of the rain, our mindset prevailed. And Sajid’s ways of making bowls, which got us into the game and gave us a boost,” Babar said after the game.

“The ground staff were very well prepared for wicking and covered the ground and made sure we had enough time for the result. I really appreciate their effort.”

Pakistan’s starting player Abid Ali was named a player of the series because he had 263 runs in three innings.
