(Reuters) – A common slogan against Biden made an uncomfortable moment on Friday when President Joe Biden made phone calls to children to track Santa’s flight when a father said “Let’s go to Brandon”.

The refrain, the sanitized version of “Fuck Joe Biden,” has been a sensation on the Internet since a TV reporter told race driver Brandon Brown that a NASCAR crowd was actually shouting rudeness, “Let’s go Brandon.”

Biden and his wife Jill Biden were taking calls to the Santa Tracker Aerospace Defense Command in North America as the Santa Tracker reindeer-driven Santa Deer follows millions of children.

At the end of a call, a parent who gave her name as Jared said, “Merry Christmas and let’s go Brandon.”

“Let’s go, Brandon, I agree,” said a quiet Biden, before asking Jaredi if he was in Oregon. At that moment, the call was disconnected.

It was not immediately clear about the Christmas Eve exchange, what the caller wanted, whether Biden repeated the slogan and whether he knew the origin of the phrase.

The White House did not respond to requests for comment. Jared’s full name and contact information were not immediately available.

The slogan has become popular among supporters of former President Donald Trump, who in 2018 caused a storm of social media in a phone call on Christmas Eve with children.

Trump asked seven-year-old Collman Lloyd of South Carolina if he still believed in Santa “because he’s marginal at seven, right?” Lloyd then told the media that he believed in Santa and did not know what he meant by marginalization.

Brandon Brown himself has expressed his displeasure with his name for a slogan against Biden.

“I don’t want to be a substitute for a curse,” he told The New York Times recently.
