IND vs NZ, 2. T20I Ranchin: India beat New Zealand to seal seven wickets series

An association of 117 clinical executions between KL Rahul (65, 49b, 6×4, 2×6) and Rohit Sharma (55, 36b, 1×4, 5×6) beat India seven times in the second round in New T20I here on Friday.

The plenary session at the JSCA International Stadium Complex cheered the home team up for a 2-0 win in a three-game series.

India did a short job on the 154th execution target, completing the task with 16 submissions.

Harshal was the most spectacular of the set, showing no signs of nerve. The slower shipments that brought him so much success in the IPL were visible here. Time and time again, the batsmen were engaged early and confused in uncomfortable playing positions.

Mitchell, who threw a long-on cutter, was Harshal’s main international wicket. Another cutter freed Phillips, who had just begun to take the fast.

Guptill, meanwhile, overtook Virat Kohli to become the biggest runner in the T20I kilket. He hit a couple of six stunning speed balls, cleared his front leg and hit golf-like shots to send the ball straight and away.

The captures of Rahul and Venkatesh Iyer, who gave lives to Guptill and Phillips, respectively, were not expensive for India.
