India vs South Africa 2021-22 test, ODI series: full calendar, schedules, teams

Team India will take on the challenge of conquering its ultimate frontier in a three-game Test series facing South Africa outside the subcontinent on Boxing Day at Centurion’s SuperSport Park.

The series will mark India’s third round in the second round of the World Test Championships after being runner-up in the starting round in June 2021.

Meanwhile, Proteas will open its second WTC campaign and aim to keep the Indian record intact.

Another three ODIs will be detected in the three-game Test series, with the Omicron COVID-19 variant removing the four T20I series.

What is at stake

The 1st place Indian Test team will face the sixth ranked South African team for a maximum of 36 points; each test will award 12 points for six draws and four draws.

In addition to the tournament points at stake, India will compete for the Freedom Trophy, which was first established in 2015 in honor of Gandhi and Nelson Mandela.

The upcoming series marks the fourth edition of the Freedom Trophy since 2015. Virat Kohli’s Indians held a home edition in 2015 and 2019 while they lost to South Africa in 2018.

India also aims to win its first Test series in South Africa after losing seven. He has only achieved three victories in South Africa: once in 2006/07, 2010/11 and 2017/18.

Will viewers be allowed to test series?

Cricket South Africa (CSA) agreed with the BCCI that the entire tour will be played behind closed doors in the country after the rise in COVID-19 infections.
