India was fined for slowing overfishing in its first test against South Africa

India’s victorious cricket team was fined 20 per cent of the match on Friday for maintaining a slow excess rate against South Africa in the first round.

India will also lose a point from the balance sheet of the ICC Men’s World Test Championship as a result of this crime, the ICC said.

Andrew Pycroft was sentenced by the Emirates ICC Elite Panel of Match Arbiter after India was ruled out of goal after taking into account time bonuses.

Pursuant to Article 2.22 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Personnel Support Personnel, players will receive a fine of up to 20% of match fees for each time they fail to vote within the allotted time. The ICC said in a statement.

In addition, in accordance with Article 16.11 of the ICC Men’s World Championship Test Requirements, one side will be penalized one point in the short term.

Captain Virat Kohli pleaded guilty to the crime and accepted the proposed sentence, so no formal hearing was required.

Judges Marais Erasmus, Adrian Holdstock, Allahudi Paleker and Bongani Jele equalized.

India won the game with 113 runs at SuperSport Park on Thursday to take a 1-0 lead in the three-game series here.
