LUCKNOW, India (Reuters) – Indian police on Saturday said they reported top officials from a local unit on Amazon.com (NASDAQ:) under drug laws in a marijuana smuggling case through an online retailer.

Amazon said in a statement that it does not support the listing and sale of legally banned products, and added that it takes drastic measures against sellers in the event of any violation.
“We were notified of the problem and we are currently investigating,” Amazon said of the alleged marijuana smuggling.
