Lance Klusener will not apply for an extension as coach in Afghanistan after his term ends on 31 December.
The former South African international, who has been the coach of the Afghan team since 2019, released a statement on Monday saying he is leaving work in Afghanistan.

“After spending two years with the team, I will take away memorable moments with me,” Klusener said. “As I move away from the Afghan cricket team and its cricket structure, I am looking forward to the next stage of my coaching career and the opportunities it brings,” the skilled coach added.
Afghanistan recently took part in the T20 World Cup in the United Arab Emirates under the coach of Klusener.
