Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro has been taken to a hospital in Sao Paulo with a stomach ache, according to local media.

Globe TV has shown footage of the 66-year-old president’s plane landing after landing in Sao Paulo at 01:30 (04:30 GMT). He was then taken to Vila Nova Star Hospital, he said.

Globo quoted Bolsonaro’s doctor, Antonio Luiz Macedo, as saying that Bolsonaro had a stomach ache. According to the UOL news site, Macedo said the president will undergo several tests to examine his stomach.

The presidential press service did not comment immediately.

Macedon operated on Bolsonaro after being stabbed at a political rally during the 2018 presidential election campaign. Since then, Bolsonaro has undergone multiple stomach surgeries.
