Mendy, 27, has pleaded guilty to a total of six rapes after being charged with four felonies in early August.
Manchester City defender Benjamin Mendy has been charged with two other rapes in addition to the first rape and sexual assault allegation, the England prosecutor said.
The 27-year-old has been in custody since August after making several bail requests, but has been denied by judges.
Mendy was initially charged on August 26 with three rapes related to an alleged incident in October 2020 and sexual assault on a woman in early January this year.
He was also accused of raping a woman in August this year.
The alleged attacks allegedly took place at his home address on Withinlee Road in Cheshire, Prestbury.
Another man, Louis Saha Matturie, 40, has been charged with two other rapes and a sexual assault in connection with the alleged assaults.
“The CPS has given permission to the Cheshire Constabulary to charge two men in connection with additional allegations of serious sexual assault,” the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) said in a statement Tuesday.
“The Cheshire Constabulary and the Crown Prosecutor’s Office would like to remind us that they are living through criminal proceedings and have the right to a fair trial,” the statement added.
Mendy’s lawyers have strongly denied the allegations.
Both will appear in Stockport Magistrates Court on Wednesday and will be tried on January 24, 2022.
Mendy signed for the French International in 2017 from the Ligue 1 side of AS Monaco with Manchester City in exchange for a fee of £ 52 million ($ 71.32 million).
He last played for Cityn Tottenham Hotspur on 15 August and was suspended that month. The World Cup winner has won the Premier League three times and the English League twice.
