Karachi, Pakistan – Authorities say all drifting tourists at Murree Hill Station have been rescued after heavy snowfall trapped in the thousands in their vehicles and killed at least 21 people.
The military and local administration teams continued to work to clear roads of more than 1.2 meters of snow that fell over the weekend on Sunday, and trapped thousands of vehicles approaching the popular hill station. 40 km (25 miles) northeast of the capital Islamabad.

The military said it had provided medical care to more than 300 tourists on Saturday, and that more than 1,000 had served food at nearby relief camps.
Some roads were reopened after snow removal, but others were closed due to ice conditions or cleaning work, the military statement said.
The death sparked widespread criticism from Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan on social media, and many questioned Khan’s statement on the issue.
