Nonito Donair has completed one of the most spectacular careers of his time. The fight with Rodriguez sparked a great deal of controversy, with Gaballo winning the match decision called the universal robbery. Showtime’s unofficial card had a 118-110 fight for Rodriguez that night, which matched one of the official cards. The two referees, however, gave Gaballo the victory, somehow giving him the cards 115-113 and 116-112 in his favor.

In January, he ordered a rematch between WBCk Gaballo and Rodriguez, winner met with Donaire. That rematch never materialized and now Gaballo has a chance to meet his Filipino teammate with the world title at stake.

It’s hard to pick up against Donaire here, and why would you want to? He is one of the best boys in a wild sport; see it As Gaballo’s interpreter as evidence at Thursday’s media event.
