Circles Global launches new R&D Center in S’pore, to create 120 ICT jobs – Wired PR Lifestyle Story

Circles Global launched today (February 25) its Circles-X Research & Development Center in Singapore as part of its ambition to be the first trillion-dollar global Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) company.

The R&D center is intended to bring together three elements that Circles regards as key for future plans: cutting-edge made-in Singapore tech, local talents, and market experience from Circles’ operations in the Asia-Pacific region.

The main objective of the center is to take advantage of Circles’ current technology in its own operating system CXOS, in order to enhance both its position in the world of telecommunications, and the position of telecommunications companies in a world where internet companies are increasingly dominant .

“As we build the future of telco right here at our Circles-X R&D Center, we envision this as the cornerstone of the first global Singaporean SaaS company leading an entire industry. In some ways it is our duty to extend the work of the last generation of Singaporean champions, ”he said Rameez Ansar, co-founder of Circles.

Beefing up its headcount

In the near future, Circles’ is planning to expand into additional global markets in Asia and Europe, such as Taiwan and Australia, powered by their proprietary technology stack, which will be further developed at the newly opened Circles-X R&D Center.

The opening of the Circles-X R&D Center currently houses 265 staff, and is also expected to create 120 jobs in Singapore in the ICT field, specifically in software engineering, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence (AI), and more.

These roles include the development of the next generation of digital telecommunications services such as fintech and gaming, as part of Circles’ skunkworks team.

This follows a previous announcement in 2021 of Circles’ plans to boost its local tech recruitment to gear up for international growth.

The center’s opening also comes as Communications and Information Minister Josephine Teo announced an expansion to Singapore’s TechSkills Accelerator program, which aims to train Singaporeans in the Infocomm Technology industry.
