Our Christmas Playlist will shake you off tonight – Wired PR Lifestyle Story

Setting the right atmosphere for your holiday dinner collection doesn’t have to take a Christmas miracle. If you’re going to take on the role of the main creator of playlists for holiday gatherings this season, I’m covered. After eight years DJ, building a scientific startup of music and a lifetime making playlistsI think you can tell I have the art to make playlists. The best playlist is as much art as science, and fortunately I have experience in both. Today, I’m ready to share the gift of holiday music planning. Here are some quick points on how and why to build your holiday music playlist.

1. Don’t take too much with holiday classics.
   While everyone is excited about their favorite holiday tunes, these songs can be played quickly during the holiday season. It’s a great idea to use standard Christmas classics in moderation and evenly throughout your playlist. Why? Because science likes our brains to learn, and keeping your guests intrigued and amazed by interesting and new music selections will add an element of enjoyment to your meeting. So it’s important to include new and unexpected songs in your playlist.
2. Try a new version of an old classic.
   While guests will love listening to their favorite holiday hits, we’ve established above that playing too many holiday songs that are usually played can decrease your liking and reduce the novelty factor. But let’s be honest, Christmas only comes once a year, and there are plenty of Christmas jams around. So as not to play too many predictable Christmas tunes, try some songs! There are endless possibilities for classic holidays crafted by new artists (did you know that there are over 200 different artists) Wonderful winter land Since its premiere in 1934?), And your guests will love to present a new and unique tour of a proven favorite. And lo and behold! You have crowded and audible versions of holiday products to add to your playlist that will create a sense of rarity in their listening experience.

3. Don’t overdo your conversations using too complex music.
   When you think about the atmosphere of your meeting, try to think holistically about the listening levels in the room. Will a lot of rich or intimate conversation happen? If so, that means you don’t want to choose music that will compete with the vocal levels in the room. When choosing additional music, you can search for melodies with less rhythmic complexity, less intensity, and fewer instruments or voices. Or, consider putting your more complex music first, and switching to less complexity later when the dinner conversation heats up!
