Pakistan vs Bangladesh: Abid Ali won Pakistan in eight championships in the first round

Pakistan’s Abid Ali was missing nine knots in a second century in a row as the visitors reached the 202 goal on Tuesday to win the first test in Chittagong by eight wickets and take the lead in a two-match series against Bangladesh.

Abid scored 133 in Pakistan’s first inning, and Abdullah Shafic made an initial 151-run run in the second inning to put him on a moving distance of victory on the fifth day of the Pakistan Test.

Pakistan looked set to win 10 wickets, but Mehidy Hasan caught Abdullah’s leg in his debut in the 73rd to ease the defeat.

Nick Webb explains: How do Hardik, Rohit, Rahul get big sixes?

Abid lost six ads later when Taijul Islam hit his pads to get him out of the front leg.

“Abdullah Shafique was making his debut, so we tried to keep him in the groove, wait for the bad balls and we managed to get rid of them,” Abide said.

“I did well in home cricket and I carried that positive thinking here as well. Abdullah played very well, I gave him more credit.

“I’m a little upset because I came out on top 91 in the second inning, but at the same time I’m happy that we won the match.”

Azhar Ali (24 away) and Babar Azam (13 away) were then joined to drive to the finish line in Pakistan.

The second Dakar test will begin on December 4th.
