Pele was hospitalized for a scheduled procedure as part of a treatment for a colon tumor, and the great Brazilian footballer will arrive at home in time to spend Christmas with his family, said daughter Kely Nascimento.
Three-time World Cup winner Pele, who was admitted to the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo on Wednesday, underwent surgery to remove the tumor in September and spent almost a month in care.
The hospital said at the time the 81-year-old would have to undergo chemotherapy.

“She’ll be home in two or three days to enjoy Christmas,” she said Instagram. “This was not a surprise. It was already scheduled and is part of the treatment.”
As one of the greatest footballers of all time, Pel has suffered a number of health problems in recent years. The hip surgery repeatedly left him in pain, and he can’t walk without help now.
He appeared happy in the videos released during the recovery period in September and October, and said on Twitter last month that he was feeling better every day.
