Pride for India is at stake in the third ODI vs SA
[ad_1]
India will look to avoid a clean-up clash against South Africa on Sunday in Newlands, Cape Town, the third and final one-day international tournament.
India’s strategy so far in the ODI series has been fully in sync with the demands of today’s white ball game, the bats have not kept up the momentum in the middle overs and the bowlers, with the exception of Jasprit Bumrah, have appeared naive.

India have only been able to pick up seven wickets in two ODIs: four in the first game and three in the second.
Rhythm and bounce
As R. Ashwin and Bhuvneshwar Kumar have not been affected, it remains to be seen whether coach Rahul Dravid will decide to test Jayant Yadav and Deepak Chahar for Sunday’s competition. The first two games were played in a Boland Park band that did not have much pace and bounce, and captain KL Rahul also admitted that the conditions were more similar to the one when the Indian team returns home. In the Newlands, however, there will be more pace and bounce.
Rahul has not won many races on this tour after winning the game in the first round after a century, and he will want to get back in shape. Two Iyers – Shreyas and Venkatesh – have yet to set the stage on fire and the main problem has been the inability to force the rhythm in the central overs. They want to get there faster this season.
Overall, a huge improvement is needed for the Indian team to be competitive on all sides.
