“A bomb exploded, and everyone fled in different directions,” Kahambuk said. “It’s really sad to see four people who were seriously injured.”
The U.S. embassy in Kinshasa said on Tuesday that it believed “terrorist attacks” were planned in Benin “in the near future,” and warned U.S. citizens not to go there.
Beni has been bombed in recent years by authorities accused of Allied Democratic Forces (ADF), an Ugandan armed group that has shown loyalty to ISIL (ISIS).
