South Australians want to build the Ashes Head-start in Adelaide

Travis Head batsman said he will taste the opportunity to play in front of Adelaide in front of his home crowd along with South Australian teammate Alex Carey, with more races in the second Ashes test to protect his stylish Gabba century.

South Australia (SA) has created some great cricketers like the Greg Blewett and Chappell brothers, but Head has been the only representative of his state in the organization of the test since his 2018 debut against Pakistan.

Carey won his first test in nine Australian bouts in Gabban, and a rookie wicketkeeper set a record eight catches.

The 30-year-old single-day specialist also shared a 41-year permanent partnership with Head 152.

“It felt like everyday. We’ve done so much together,” Captain SA told reporters at Adelaide Oval on Tuesday.

“It simply came to our notice then.

“I can’t wait to go out with him.”

Head-to-head performance of Man of the Match was under pressure from Gabban to justify his selection, as he was knocked out in a 2-1 defeat in the Indian series last summer and selected ahead of experienced Usman Khawaja.

He said that the Gabba ton did not have to be less nervous when he went to the Adelaide creek.

“I have to win the right again and prepare the best for the next few days and enjoy the opportunity to play in Australia again,” he added.

With pitcher Josh Hazlewood sidelined with side tension, the Australian selectors have to choose between two testers Jhye Richardson or Michael Neser for the day-night test against Adelaide Ovalen England.

Head said both would do well with the pink ball, while Neser described Hazlewood as a substitute for the top line and long bowling alley.

“I think Jhye probably has a little more ball speed and that raw ability, that raw talent,” Head added.

“‘Nes’ is probably similar to Josh’s mold. He has relentless pressure, he can move the ball. We’ve seen that for a long time.

“Anyone who gets that place is ready to go.”

The second test of the five-game series will begin on Thursday.
