Sudanese authorities say the decision was made as a result of a “violation of the terms” of the chain’s license.

Sudanese authorities have revoked the license to broadcast Al Jazeera Mubasher, the channel said.

In a statement on Sunday, Qatar’s media network said authorities had also revoked the accreditation of two journalists in the country.

“Al Jazeera condemns his involvement in the fair and objective coverage of events in the country and his involvement with journalists to act without hindrance and to practice their profession,” he said.

“The network believes it is an attack on press freedom, and calls on international human rights and media organizations to condemn this violation of the security of journalists.”

The Sudanese Ministry of Culture and Information said in a statement on Saturday that the decision was made in response to the channel’s “unprofessional behavior”.

He said the channel’s coverage was aimed at the “social fabric of the country” by expanding its content to the ethics of the profession and the habits and customs of the Sudanese people.

“[This] it has damaged the highest interests of the country and its national security.
