Wearing of masks to be optional outdoors in S’pore from March 29 – Wired PR Lifestyle Story

Wearing masks outdoors will be optional from next Tuesday (Mar 29), Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced during his National Address on Thursday (Mar 24).

Group size restrictions for social gatherings will be eased, doubling from five to 10 individuals. That’s how Singapore makes a decisive move towards living with Covid-19.

The change comes as transmission risks have eased, although the wearing of masks indoors will still be required, the country’s leader said in his televised address to the nation.

Safe distancing of one meter between groups will still be required in settings where masks are not worn to minimize the risk of transmission.

Other measures include allowing up to 75 percent of employees who can work from home to return to their offices and the increase in capacity limits and settings to 75 percent.
