One month after the biggest show of the year in wrestling, WWE will return to the pay-per-view approach with the WrestleMania Backlash, a new brand of Backlash PPV that was the post-WWE WrestleMania event from 1999 to 2009. that means a lot of WrestleMania revenge is expected at the event.

An already confirmed matchup will put Bobby Lashley in the WWE Championship against Drew McIntyre in the fight against WrestleMania. The match will be made much more official in the coming weeks, as weekly television will continue the construction of the event.

The WWE WrestleMania Backlash will take place on Sunday, May 16 at the Yuengling Center in Tampa. The main show will begin at 7pm on ET and will be broadcast live on Peacock with sessions kicking off the festivities an hour earlier. Women’s Championship SmackDown – Bianca Belair (c) vs Bayley: After defeating Sasha Banks at WrestleMania to capture the title, it looked like it could be a rematch for Belair at WrestleMania Backlash. Instead, he gets Bayley, Banks ’best friend. Bayley didn’t do much at WrestleMania, as different stages were interrupted and interrupted between games and embarrassed by the Bella Twins. Bayley’s good faith is certainly strong, however, as he has been the longest SmackDown women’s champion in WWE history. Universal Championship – Roman Reigns (c) vs. Cesaro: Maybe Reigns will face Edge in a single match or something related to Daniel Bryan. Gross Women’s Championship – Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Asuka vs. Charlotte Flair: Flair WrestleMania’s absence was surprising, but once the biggest show on the calendar was in the books, Flair came back and reported that he had plans to become champion again. He then attacked Asukari and Ripley in a head-to-head rematch on WrestleMania Raw. Asuka hasn’t gotten the full revenge experience and as Flair puts himself in the situation, it looks like a triple threat is on the way.

Intercontinental Championship – Apollo Crews (c) vs. Big E: Another rematch of WrestleMania that would make sense. The crew had to rely on the great support of Commander Azeez – first Babatunde / Dabba-Kato – at WrestleMania to eventually beat Big E. With a rather dark end to the match, it makes sense for Big Ek to get his rematch. .
