It seems like one of the biggest fights in boxing history has a date and location in the end. WBC champion Tyson Fury took to Twitter on Sunday, where he confirmed the date on Saturday, Aug. 14, after talks and negotiations with promoter Bob Arum Fury and promoter Eddie Hearn Joshua. Fury revealed that the fight will take place in Saudi Arabia, a destination known throughout the negotiations.

The couple signed a two-fight deal in March, which launched a 30-day negotiation period to determine details on the date and location. In Hearn’s weeks – and even Fury’s own – suggested final details and when Arum and Fury claimed the fight was dead for a summer day, Fury confirmed on Sunday that it was the final they received details from the Saudi government and the fight is set for August.

“You’ve received tremendous news for everyone,” Fury said in the video. “I just got off the phone with Prince Khalid [bin Salman Al Saud] From Saudi Arabia. He told me that the fight is 100% hanging. August 14, 2021, summer. All eyes on the world will be on Saudi Arabia and I can’t wait – I can’t wait – to break Anthony Joshua on the biggest stage of all time. Earth will be the greatest sporting event ever on the planet. ”

Fury will achieve tremendous performance in February 2020, with Deontay Wilder winning the WBC Heavyweight Championship in a rematch in the 2018 draw. A third fight with Wilder would be next to Fury, but the COVID-19 pandemic and several delays prompted negotiations to overcome the breach of contract and Fury moved on to the unification struggle.

Joshua lost his WBA, WBO and IBF heavyweight titles in a stunning June 2019 loss to Andy Ruiz Jr.. Failure was the first of his career. He would win the December rematch to regain Ruiz’s three titles. After a successful title defense against Kubrat Pulev, Joshua struggled with Fury and had a chance to get a rare claim to be the undisputed world champion.
