A junior tennis tournament in Ghana was the scene of a wild brawl on Monday after one player slapped another at the net. Facing off at the Accra Sports Stadium, in Accra, Ghana, Raphael Nii Ankrah and Michael Kouame went to shake hands following their match. That’s when things took a turn.

Ankrah defeated Michael Kouame of France 6-2, 6-7, 7-6 in the first round of the ITF junior tournament, and, clearly unhappy about something, Kouame slapped Ankrah at the net.

Take a look at what went down after the match ended:

Ankrah was clearly surprised by the slap, as were the fans in the stands. The chaos did not end with the slap, however. Afterwards a brawl took place between both camps.

People were seen hitting each other on the court after the initial confrontation at the net between the players:

ITF Junior World No. 589 Ankrah advanced with the win and will face Ishmael Nii Nortey Dowuona in the next round. ITF Junior World No.1688 Kouame was scheduled to be back on the court for his doubles tournament on Tuesday. It’s not clear if he was reprimanded for the slap or will be.
