The National Football League Players Association (NWSLPA) announced on Monday that it has ratified the first collective agreement in the league’s history.

The highlight of the agreement is a 160% annual increase in the minimum salary for players to $ 35,000, a 4% year-on-year increase. It also allows players to become free agents.

The agreement also includes a six-month paid mental health leave, an eight-week paid parental leave, and the removal of teams forced to play on unsuitable football pitches.

Welsh midfielder Ramsey has joined Rangers on loan from Juventus

“It is the strength, resilience and solidarity of this extraordinary team of players and people that has ensured this landmark deal,” NWSLPA Executive Director Meghann Burke said in a statement.

“It simply came to our notice then.

“It’s a historic moment not only for our sport and our league, but for all the staff who stand up and come together.”

The 10th season of the NWSL will begin with the Challenge Cup on March 19th.
