Lunch will always be the highlight of my day. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good one brainstorm sesh, collaborating with colleagues, and check all things my to-do list. But to be honest, there is nothing like taking a break from my brain in the middle of the day and taking some time to connect with nutritious food. When I lived in Paris, I was always surprised to see cafes overcrowded during lunch hours. Professionals of all ages and salaries gathered at the luncheon with real silverware, real tablecloths and, yes, wine. From the hard work of the states, to the desire to play hard, the concept of taking a break in the middle of the day was amazing. But since then, I have vowed that no matter how busy I am, I will spend at least 30 minutes every day charging you with healthy meals that are perfect for work.

While I am well aware of the many challenges it has brought over the last two years, I have also made it a priority to consider the opportunities that lifestyle change has brought. I work from home how I structure my day. Not every day is perfect, of course, but in an ideal world I’m taking time for three things: movement, rest, and connection. You can define for yourself what these are like, but for me my body is moving first, finishing at a fair hour and giving me a break in the middle of the day for a healthy and supportive meal. As with everything I bring into my life, I want to feel inspired by my food. I’m talking about color, I’m prioritizing flavor, and I’m packing my plate with all the nutrients-filled foods.
