(Reuters) – Richard Clarida, vice chairman of the Federal Reserve Board, will step down on January 14, the US central bank said on Monday, ending its 2018 term as the second praise of Fed Chairman Jerome Powell.

Clarida’s term ended on January 31, and U.S. President Joe Biden has appointed Fed Governor Lael Brainard to his seat on the Fed Council.

Clarida’s resignation came at the end of last month to show that she had sold an equity fund that corrected her previous financial statement and then quickly recovered before the Fed announced a series of bailout programs, following reports to halt the pandemic’s economic impact.
