This olive oil recipe is arguably my favorite way to use a good bottle of extra virgin olive oil. If you’ve never had an olive oil pie, it adds an interesting flavor as well as adding a level of moisture that butter can never make. Make sure you use olive oil fresh and high quality, because it’s really a central flavor.

This special olive oil cake is adapted from the classic Mina Stone recipe and is dense, sponge cake and perfectly spiced with cinnamon and grains. It’s sweet all season long, but the orange / grain combination is perfect for the holidays. The best part about this cake is that it’s not too sweet, and that can be awesome after a big meal.
